The Splendor of the King
One of my favorite memories is the time several of us went skiing in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We were all single young people (ha – not really me. I was the oldest in age but the same age as them in heart!)
What I loved the most about the trip is every morning, most of us would go out onto the balcony and spend quiet time with the Lord alone. We would take separate corners, wrapped in coats or blankets with our hot coffee, some with our ipods, with our bibles and just enjoy the magnificent view – the splendor of the King that was all around us.
There was a time when I didn’t notice the beauty of God’s creation. Life was too busy and I took creation for granted.
Today, the beauty of God’s creation can bring me to tears. I am in awesome awe of God. He is the perfect Artist.
Here was the view from my corner:
My Hair is Long & Jesus Knows
Luke 12:7 “And He even knows the number of hairs on your head!”
This is a lovely scripture I reference at times. Because my hair is long, I see when I lose it most times – lots of hair – several times a day. Just yesterday, my husband commented on how he thought I should be bald by now by the amount of hair I lose every day.
Jesus knows the exact number of hairs I have on my head RIGHT NOW. He even knows about the loose ones that are barely hanging on. If He knows this, then He truly knows ME. So, just like keeping count of the hairs on my head, He must know me not only on a day to day basis, but hour to hour, minute by minute, second by second.
No one knows me like Jesus does. No one could EVER know me like Jesus does. AMAZING.LOVE.
Keep the Light On
Pretend it’s dark and you can’t see where you are at all. How do you feel? Are you worried? Are you anxious? Are you afraid? Now pretend you see light. Do you go towards the light? Of course you do! But think about this – why do you go towards the light? Does the worry, anxiousness and fear start to go away?
The Light surrounds us with Peace. We can see clearly in the Light. Light ALWAYS wins over darkness in an instant.
Are you in a dark place right now? Are you having a hard time “seeing”? Are you afraid and worried? Get out of that dark place by reading the Bible. It will truly illuminate your life.
Try to read the Bible every day. The Word in your life every day will keep the Light on!
